They are in good condition with some wear showing to the cap sheet, the bases have a few deeper scratches that have been filled. One ski has been fitted with a retainer on the tip for use as a skibike rear ski. They will come sharpened and waxed ready for use.

I have experienced these excellent Austrian made Salomon Snowblades both on a ski bike and conventionally on my feet! Their short length of 85cm makes for a very agile and fast turning ski. The composite construction used is both lightweight and strong.

For sale - Salomon SB9 SnowBlades - £55

From personal experience they made for a very friendly, forgiving skibike set up; ideal for beginner and intermediate level riders. The short length would also make them a favourite choice for BMX based skibike conversions where regular Snowblades or skiboards would be too long.

I used Winter X Bike foot pegs for years on my skibikes, the US based company was the first to start the D.I.Y. mountain bike to skibike conversion craze.

As with other similar products this Winter X Bike kit is designed to fit into the cavity normally occupied by a bike frame bottom bracket. Fitting is very straightforward and should only take minutes to complete.
The foot pegs have a serrated edge to grip your footwear and offer plenty of grip in cold, icy conditions. They have huge voids to allow the snow to fall through and not build up.

The foot pegs have been used, but baring some cosmetic scratches are still in great condition with only very slight wear to the finish.

I have used these well designed Gigantic Snowbike foot pegs on a number of occasions, the Czech Republic based company sells a variety of sporting goods including skibike conversion kits.

As with other similar products this Gigantic Snowbike kit is designed to fit into the cavity normally occupied by a bike frame bottom bracket. Fitting is very straightforward and should only take minutes to complete.
The foot pegs have raised pins to grip your footwear and offer plenty of grip in cold, icy conditions. They have plenty of voids to allow the snow to fall through and not build up. Their wide spacing is good for your stance whilst riding and inspires confidence.
You will need a frame with a high centre bracket or whilst carving turns you might find the foot pegs catching the snow. This shouldn't be any problem with a modern downhill frame, it was just something I noticed with my 20 year old vintage mountain bike.

The foot pegs have been lightly used, but are still in great condition with only very slight wear to the finish visible.

Following comments on The SkiBike Shop Facebook Group that there is nothing available for those on a limited budget; I have decided to sell this original Winter X Bike / Alpine SkiBikes skibike conversion kit.

I used this kit on my #1 skibike which I built for myself in December 2009, since then the skibike evolved a number of times and throughout this kit was the basis.

The front adaptors are fitted with 9mm axles, a standard fitting found on many brands of affordable suspension forks. The front adaptors have two holes for the mounting of a crank and strap arrangement to provide better high speed carving performance for advanced riders. The rear axle length is 170 mm with spacing of 135 mm for the rear triangle, another common frame standard.

For sale - Winter X Bike / Alpine SkiBikes Conversion Kit - £120

The parts are still in good condition and have been thoroughly stripped, cleaned, re-assembled, greased and clearances set for use.

On offer is one complete kit, including the original Winter X Bike foot pegs and the carving upgrade kit. The price for these parts includes delivery to the UK and Europe, it is substantially lower than any current prices offered elsewhere.

For European Union based skibikers this will be a substantial saving over the regular price. As anything imported from outside of the European Economic Area is subject to courier fees + handling fees + import duties @ 2.5% of the net value + VAT @ 20%. Do the mathematics, this is a good deal which I will not be able to repeat in future.

Following comments on The SkiBike Shop Facebook Group that there is nothing available for those on a limited budget; I have decided to sell this Russian made Ski X Bike skibike conversion kit.

For those that haven't seen this product before might note the striking similarity to the USA made Winter X Bike and Alpine Skibikes skibike conversion kit. If you put the two systems side by side you will note some slight differences, but having used both on identical frames I can confirm that the two manufacturer's products share very similar performance and quality.

I used this kit on my #2 skibike which I built for friends and guests to ride with me whilst I was writing The SkiBike Blog.
